In the early 2000s, the need for new rolling stock was great in North Zealand. For many years, a Desiro train set operated on the Hornbæk Line, but in 2005 Lokalbanen instead ordered 27 Alstom Coradia Lint 41 trainsets. These trainsets have been running around North Zealand ever since the first delivery in 2006, and have replaced the old Y trains from the 60s and 70s as well as the IC2 trains, which were sent to Regionstog instead. Lokalbanen and Regionstog merged in 2015 to become Lokaltog.

The Lint 41 is designed for sidings, and has been built in almost 1000 copies in countless variants around Europe.
