Abandoned cities and villages hold a special fascination for us. Nowhere else but in a so-called ghost town do we truly realize that this place was once bustling with activity, of which nothing remains today. Deserted villages are eerily beautiful! And even our fountain couldn't withstand the involuntary renaturalization. Trees, shrubs, and many other plants are now flourishing, climbing, and growing where people once watched the water play to relax.

Nature never ceases to amaze us. Especially when it reclaims places that we humans have claimed for ourselves. So-called "lost places" have long since become attractions. In these places, we are left speechless with wonder, because we become all too aware of how fleeting our existence on this planet truly is. This struggle between humanity and nature fascinates us, and deep down we know that nature always wins in the end and will outlive us humans.
