Prototype: Class 44 heavy freight steam locomotive with standard 2´2´T34 coal tender of the Austrian 
Federal Railways (BBÖ). Black livery. With Wagner smoke deflectors of the standard version, 
Reichsbahn lamps, leading wheelset with spoked wheels, with central locking smokebox and without 
inductive train protection (Indusi) magnet. Locomotive road number 44 542. Operating condition circa 
1949.

Model: With digital decoder and extensive sound functions. Controlled high-efficiency propulsion 
with flywheel in the boiler. 5 axles powered. Traction tires. Locomotive and coal tender largely 
made of metal. Equipped for smoke generator 7226. Directional two-light headlights and retrofittable 
smoke generator operate conventionally; digitally switchable. Cab lighting, firebox flicker, and 
ashpan flicker can each be switched separately digitally. Lighting with maintenance-free warm white 
and red LEDs. Close coupling with kinematic mechanism between locomotive and tender. Kinematically 
guided close coupling with NEM coupler pocket at the rear of the tender and at the front of the 
locomotive. Minimum radius for operation: 360 mm. Piston rod protection tubes, brake hoses, and 
screw coupling imitations are included.

Length over buffers: 26 cm.

A matching vintage tank car set can be found in the Märklin H0 range under item number 46755, which 
specifies the required DC wheelsets.
