Trix 25141 Steam Locomotive 141 R 1244, SNCF, Surprise of the Year

Steam locomotive 141 R 1244 in specialist shops from September. The Mikado locomotive appears for the first time in the Märklin and Trix range as a completely new design and with great technical highlights. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, the steam locomotive giant represented an absolute revolution for the SNCF after the war. When the French locomotive fleet was seriously decimated, robust and universally usable Mikado locomotives were ordered from the USA. The first series of 700 locomotives was delivered in 1945, followed by a second series of 640 locomotives in 1947. The 141 R was used in many types of trains and was particularly popular for heavy freight and express trains. Nine of these locomotives still exist today, including 141 R 1244, which is preserved in Switzerland as an operational vintage locomotive.
