The machines, rented from Northrail, are primarily used in auto logistics transport between Dingolfing and the North Sea ports. All Smartron locomotives are delivered to the owner in a standardized version, only for use in Germany.
Based on the Vectron platform, the Smartron offers customers a locomotive at attractive conditions.
Visually, the Smartron differs with a modified front panel, shunting steps with Smartron lettering, and side panels without cameras, distinguishing it from the Vectron locomotives.
