4-piece gas turbine engine train set of the Baureihe 602 type from the Deutsche Bundesbahn.

■ Sound in both power carsThe insufficient power of the diesel-powered VT 11.5 (BR 601) led in 1971 to the conversion of four power cars to gas turbine propulsion, with the most noticeable feature being the large air intakes in front of the cabin that supplied the turbine with air.
Due to defects, the operation of these trains became increasingly unprofitable, which led to the trains, known as the BR 602, being decommissioned by the DB in 1978 and 1979.
Only the power car 602 003 has been preserved for museum purposes; it can be seen today at the DB Museum in Nuremberg.
