Since 2018, DPB Rail Infra Service GmbH has been authorized to provide freight transport services 
as an independent rail transport company. In order to further develop freight transport, the first

six ordered Vectron MS locomotives of the ordered A17 variant were put into service in 2024. The 
new vehicles will be used for construction site logistics as well as for national and international 
freight rail 
transport.
