Based on Bombardier's TRAXX MS2e platform, this locomotive offers many variants and thus perfectly 
meets the interoperability requirements of rail freight transport in Central and Western Europe. It 
can be operated on all European power grids. Since January 1, 2021, the RAlpin "Rolling Highway" 
service between Freiburg Brsg Rbf and Novara Boschetto has been operated with locomotives of the 186 
series.
