Set of 3 cars with two coaches from the Austrian Federal Railways.Including a 1st class domestic passenger coach, Ampz class, and a vehicle transport coach, DDm class
■ Version as D 704 from Vienna Westbf to Bischofshofen
■ Operating status around 1992/93
With the timetable change in June 1991, the Austrian Federal Railways introduced "New Austro Takt 91". It was the first stage of the expansion into a nationwide coordinated public transport network. This was the most extensive timetable change since ÖBB's founding, including a noticeable quantitative increase in the number of trains on many routes. D 704/705 was an express train from Vienna Westbahnhof via Amstetten and Selzthal to Bischofshofen, which only ran on select days (weekends, holidays, etc.) and was introduced with "NAT 91". However, it didn't run on the usual route via Salzburg – but via Gesäuse and Enns valley. Although this route is shorter in terms of kilometers, it did not offer better travel time due to the poorer construction standard and the higher number of stops. In "NAT91", the train took 5 hours and 8 minutes for the entire route. With the direct IC trains via Salzburg, running every other hour, the journey to Bischofshofen was just 4 hours and 11 minutes. However, the train was also used less for the direct connection from Vienna to Bischofshofen, but primarily to connect tourist destinations in the Enns valley. This train stood out with its selection of coaches and towing cars. What was used was what was available at the time, and it didn't miss a single day.
