EN: Dining car AR-kimmz 288. 1st Class DB AG, ep VI New in 2023: After 40 years of IC connections in Germany, the rolling stock was a mixed bag. With the "IC mod." project, DB AG aimed to put an end to this situation and carried out some prototype conversions from 2009. From 2012, the series conversion began at the repair shops in Kassel, Neumünster, and Nuremberg, where the buses received new interiors to ICE standards, new doors, air conditioning, and wiring. Unlike the prototype, PIKO relies on an entirely new design for the modernized IC buses. The vehicles have been precisely realized in 1:87 scale and impress with the finest engravings and flush-mounted windows. The interior is very detailed and is in no way inferior to the prototype. The bogies are also convincing with many details, such as individually attached spring sets, magnetic brakes, or brake disc reproductions on the axles. A look under the car is also worth the effort. Machinery, battery compartments, and all supply lines have been reproduced with great attention to detail. The second-class car is of course prepared for uncomplicated retrofitting of interior lighting.
