Sound diesel locomotive BR 211 VLTJ V AC version, including PIKO sound decoder New in 2025: The 
simple locomotives of the V 100 series played a significant role in the disappearance of steam 
locomotives on branch lines. The main application of the V 100.10 and V 20 series, which began 
production in 1961, was light passenger and freight transport. In 1968, the locomotives were 
reclassified as the 211 series in the new numbering system of the German State Railways. The more 
powerful variants of the V 100.20 series also operated on main and steep lines.
