The luxuriously equipped train sets on the Metropolitan Express Train (MET) were in operation on the Cologne - Hamburg route between 1999 and 2004.From the outside, the models impress with their elegant appearance, which is in no way inferior to the original. Through the perfectly flush, crystal-clear windows, one can glimpse into the interior. All cars feature an individually coordinated interior. Another highlight is the sharply engraved bogies and the detailed representation of the car floors. Sculptural engravings and a prototypical paint job with sharply contoured letters perfectly round out the external impression. On the layout, the powerful BR 101 locomotive smoothly transports the trainset over the tracks. All coaches are also equipped with harmoniously indirect interior lighting to create a harmonious atmosphere.The four-car set consists of an express coach Apmz 116.2 serial number 2, two express coaches Apmz 116.4 serial numbers 4 and 5, and an express coach Apmkz 116.6 serial number 6. These items were created in collaboration with the company Gebr. Märklin & Cie. GmbH, Göppingen. A corresponding AC train set Metropolitan is also available in the Märklin H0 series!
