Märklin 42988 Passenger Car Set 1 "Munich-Nuremberg Express"

Prototype: Four pressure-sealed passenger coaches of different types for the RE 4018 "Munich-
Nuremberg Express" from Munich to Nuremberg, operated by Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG). 
One open/compartment coach ABvmsz 184.0 1st/2nd class, two open coaches Bpmz 295.4 2nd class, and 
one driving trailer Bpmbdzf 296.3 2nd class. Basic livery: traffic red. Operating condition 2017.

Model: All coaches feature factory-installed warm white LED interior lighting. All coaches feature 
factory-installed current-conducting close-coupling heads. The driving trailer is additionally 
equipped with an mfx digital decoder. Triple headlights and two red marker lights are conventionally 
illuminated and digitally switchable. High beams are digitally switchable. LED interior lighting is 
conventionally illuminated and separately digitally switchable. Cab lighting is digitally 
switchable. Current-carrying coupler, conventionally connected, separately digitally switchable. The 
interior lighting of cars ABvmsz 184.0 and Bpmz 296.3 only functions when coupled to the control car 
and can be switched on and off digitally via the decoder. Type-specific roof shapes, side walls, 
underbodies, skirts, and interior fittings. Features of pressure-resistant cars, such as SIG 
gangways. ABvmsz 184.0 and Bpmz 296.3 have MD bogies without generators. Control car has SIG 72 
bogies. By removing a cover on the driver's cab side of the control car, a standard coupler can be 
fitted for coupling to a locomotive. All cars have printed destination boards and different serial 
numbers. Minimum radius for operation: 360 mm. Total length over buffers: approx. 113.5 cm.
