Märklin 39853 Railcar ET 85, Era III

Prototype: German Federal Railroad (DB) ET 85 electric multiple unit with ES 85 control car. Version 
with top-mounted taillights in a 
purple-red livery. Road numbers ET 85 21 and ES 85 20. Home depot: Munich. Operating condition from 
1958.

Model: ET 85 as a powered unit with mfx+ digital decoder and extensive sound functions. Controlled 
high-efficiency propulsion. Four axles powered. Traction tires. Triple headlights and two red marker 
lights on the outer ends of both units change with the direction of travel and are digitally 
switchable. Both units are permanently coupled via a multi-pole coupler. Interior lighting in the ET 
85 power car and ES 85 control car operates conventionally and is digitally switchable. Lighting 
with maintenance-free warm white LEDs. The headlights on power car end 1 and control car end 2 can 
each be switched off separately in digital mode. Cab lighting on the outer cabs can be switched 
separately using digital controls.

Highly detailed chassis and body. Car body and underframe made of metal.

Multi-part, multi-colored interior. Includes replica brake lines and two close-coupling heads. Total 
length over buffers approx. 46.8 cm.
