Märklin 37983 Steam Locomotive 2-8-4 Berkshire

Prototype: Steam locomotive with the axle arrangement 2-8-4 "Berkshire" from Southern Pacific. Deep black base color. Running number 3505. Operating condition between 1945 and 1950. One of 25 locomotives built with the characteristic Coffin preheater.

Model: With mfx+ digital decoder and extensive light and sound functions. Controlled high-performance drive with flywheel in the boiler. Four axles are driven, of which three are via coupling rods. Traction tires. Locomotive and tender were mainly made of metal. Built-in smoke insert as standard, with speed-dependent, dynamic smoke output, digitally controllable. Headlight that changes depending on the direction of travel, with one lamp on both the locomotive and tender in conventional operation, digitally controllable. The driver's cab and license plate lighting as well as the firebox flashing can be controlled digitally separately. Lighting with maintenance-free warm white and red light-emitting diodes (LEDs). With buffer tank. Adjustable tight coupling with kinematics between locomotive and tender. On the tender, kinematically controlled tight coupling with the NEM axle. The driver and fireman figure sit in the driver's cab. Pipes for the area under the driver's cab are included as separately connectable parts. Length approx. 31.3 cm.
