Märklin 43489 IC2 double-decker intermediate car DApza 687.2, 2nd class

Prototype: IC2 double-decker intermediate car DApza 687.2, 2nd class, of Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) 
for long-distance service. Light gray long-distance livery with a traffic red decorative stripe, in 
the current IC design. Train route: IC 2045 from Cologne to Dresden Hbf. Car number 3. Operating 
condition 2020.

Model: Minimum radius for operation 360 mm. With high-level entry above the bogies. Standard LED 
interior lighting on both levels. Standard close-coupling head on the locomotive side, current-
conducting, separable close-coupling on the car side. Illuminated destination displays along the 
sides. Interior lighting only functions when coupled with the double-decker driving trailer and can 
be digitally switched on and off via a decoder in the driving trailer. A specific vehicle sequence 
is required for operation. Red transparent taillight inserts at the ends of the cars. Prototypical 
Görlitz-type bogies with attached folding steps.

Length over buffers 28.6 cm.

The matching Class 146.5 electric locomotive is also available in the Märklin H0 range under item 
number 37449, for forming a prototypical 6-car train set with the double-decker coaches 43486, 
43487, 43488, 43489, and 43490. Traversing curved ramps may require modification of these ramps.

This model is also available in a DC version in the Trix H0 range under item number 23253.
