SBB Cargo International has been expanding its Vectron fleet and has been leasing locomotives from the leasing company MRCE (Mitsui Rail Capital Europe) since December 2021.
The newly developed design named “Shadowpiercer” is based on the original Alppiercer design and carries the basic color of the lessor MRCE.
Typical for the designs from Railcolor, the naming of the locomotives also includes names and layouts of Swiss lakes on all four corner sides. The Vectron fleet is equipped with country packages for Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and the Netherlands (DACHINL).
