Rating for ESU 59814 LokPilot 5 micro DCC/MM/SX/M4, PluX16, Gauge N/TT
The product is not yet rated
The LokPilot 5 micro is the smallest digital decoder from ESU to date. Thanks to the use of subminiature components, 8-layer printed circuit boards and the latest production technology, it is only 8.0 mm x 7.0 mm and has a thickness of only 2.4 mm (on the capacitor: 2.9 mm), so it can be used even in very small locomotives that can handle nominal sizes Z, N or TT. Nevertheless, no savings have been made in terms of functionality and robustness compared to the larger versions.

The LokPilot 5 micro decoders are available with all common interfaces. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 interface are slightly larger with a base area of 13.0 mm x 9.2 mm, but they also speak for the mfx®-compatible M4 protocol.

Modes
The LokPilot 5 micro is a true multi-protocol decoder. It masters the DCC data formats as well as Motorola®, Selectrix® and M4. In DCC format, 14 to 128 speed steps are just as natural as 2- and 4-digit addresses and up to 32 functions. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders log on fully automatically to a suitable digital center.

It masters all DCC programming modes and thanks to RailCom®, the CV values on the main track can be read out with suitable control centers. Auxiliary registers are available for control centers that can only program CVs from 1-255.

Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses enable the activation of 16 functions. A built-in programming mode also enables reprogramming with the venerable 6021 control unit.

The Next18 and PluX16 variants also enable automatic registration to mfx®-compatible control centers thanks to the M4 protocol. All 32 possible function keys are offered here.

The LokPilot 5 micro decoder recognizes Märklin® braking distances as well as ZIMO® HLU / ZACK commands or the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or with DC voltage is also possible. It also stops with a Selectrix® brake diode. An automatic ABC shuttle train enables automatic shuttle between two stations.

The LokPilot 5 decoder can be used on analog DC trains. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 can also be used on analog AC systems. The maximum speed can be set separately.

The decoder switches fully automatically between the operating modes "on-the-fly". Normally, nothing needs to be set.

Features
We know that you want your locomotives to be as realistic as possible. That's why we have equipped the LokPilot 5 micro with an astonishing number of function outputs. The variants with 6-pin or 8-pin wiring offer 4 amplified function outputs with 180mA output current each as well as two logic level outputs for servos or Susi. The versions with Next18 or PluX16 interface have a total of 6 amplified outputs and two logic level outputs. All important lighting functions are available. The brightness of each output can be set separately. The decoder masters the automatic push and switch-off when disconnecting for ROCO®, Krois® and Telex® couplings.
Motor control
The motor control of the LokPilot 5 micro has been fundamentally improved again. A variably adjustable PWM clock frequency from 10kHz to 50kHz ensures super quiet operation, especially with bell-armature motors - the typical "hum" is a thing of the past. The load control can now be adapted to difficult cases with up to 10 CVs. The unique "Autotune" function allows the decoder to be automatically calibrated to the motor. With a motor current of up to 0.75 A, the LokPilot 5 micro decoder provides sufficient power for the intended application scenarios.

Operational reliability
A PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 micro on request to bridge dirty rail sections.

Protection
The motor output and the function outputs are of course protected against overload. We want you to enjoy your decoder for as long as possible.
