The LokPilot 5 Fx is a function decoder without a motor output, making it ideal for installation in control cars or functional models. Because it supports DCC with RailCom® as well as Motorola® and Selectrix, it can be used with all common digital command stations. It shares its flexible function key assignment and diverse lighting effects with other LokPilot 5 decoders from ESU.

The LokPilot 5 Fx is available in three versions: In addition to the "classic" version with an 8-pin NEM 652 wiring harness, a version for the 21MTC interface and with a PluX22 interface is also available.

Operating Modes
The LokPilot 5 Fx is a multi-protocol decoder. It supports the DCC data format as well as Motorola® and Selectrix®. In DCC format, 14-128 speed steps are standard, as are 2- and 4-digit addresses. Up to 28 functions can be triggered. Thanks to RailComPlus®, the decoders register fully automatically with a compatible digital command station (e.g., ECoS).

It supports all DCC programming modes and can be operated and programmed with all DCC-compatible digital command stations. RailCom® also allows reading CV values ​​on the main track with compatible command stations. For command stations that can only program CVs 1-255 (e.g., ROCO® Multimaus), auxiliary registers are available.

Motorola® users benefit from up to 28 speed steps with 255 addresses. Three additional Motorola® addresses enable the triggering of 16 functions. A built-in programming mode also allows reprogramming with the venerable Control Unit 6021.

The LokPilot 5 Fx decoder recognizes Märklin® braking sections as well as ZIMO® HLU/ZACK braking commands and the Lenz® ABC system. Braking with DCC brake modules or DC voltage is also possible. Furthermore, it will also stop using a Selectrix® brake diode. An ABC shuttle train function enables automatic shuttling between two stations. Although this decoder naturally lacks a motor output, this is still important for a function decoder to synchronize the control car and power car.

The LokPilot 5 FX decoder can be used on analog DC and AC layouts. The decoder switches between operating modes fully automatically "on-the-fly." In most cases, no configuration is required.

Functions
The LokPilot 5 FX is equipped with a surprisingly large number of function outputs. Depending on the interface version, each LokPilot 5 FX decoder offers at least 10 amplified function outputs, each with a 250mA output current. The versions with the PluX22 or 21MTC interface include four additional outputs for controlling servos or logic-level outputs. All essential lighting functions are included. The brightness of each output can be adjusted separately.

Interaction
The LokPilot 5 Fx is designed to work seamlessly with the LokSound 5 and LokPilot 5 decoders. For example, you can equip the locomotive of a multiple unit with a LokSound 5 decoder and the control car with a LokPilot 5 Fx. Assuming they have the same address, both will behave identically. The identical CV layout simplifies the coordination of the two decoders.

Operational Reliability
A PowerPack can be connected to the LokPilot 5 Fx to bridge dirty track sections.
