ESU 51804 Precision Servo Motor

The Precision Servo Motor is a high-performance and quiet actuator introduced by ESU, suitable for
SwitchPilot decoders. It uses highly developed remote control (RC) technology and is perfectly suited to
set all kinds of scenes in motion on your layout. ESU has put all the experience gained with the
previous servo motor into the new Precision version, which is superior to other servo products, in order to
offer a solution for all model railway enthusiasts' needs.

Applications
The main application of the Precision Servo Motor is throwing switches. Using the Precision
Servo Motor, you can move your model railway switches like the original ones: the switch blade moves
slowly and powerfully from one position to another.

While doing this, the Precision Servo Motor works almost silently thanks to the precision gear made of
durable plastic. Motorizing railway crossings is a breeze with the Precision Servo Motor and the
SwitchPilot Servo. Finally, you can close the gates on your keyboard in time. The
servo motor also allows you to open and close the doors to your locomotive hall by remote control.
Thanks to its new electronics, the ESU Precision Servo Motor moves significantly more smoothly than other
servos, as the ESU product is optimized for
slow motion.
Mini servo
The most important component of the Precision Servo Motor is a small, 9 gram light mini servo that has been specially
developed and optimized for all the requirements of a model railway. Despite its small dimensions of only 26 mm x
13 mm x 24 mm, it achieves a power of up to 1.0 kg/cm. Its cable length of 30 cm (almost twice as long as cables from other standard servos on the market) allows for a longer distance between the servo motor
and the decoder. In addition, an electronic processor-controlled servo enables precise direction
towards the desired position without bending - very important for garage doors. The closed
current requirements of the electronics have been reduced compared to the previous servo motor, which retains the decoder.
However, one of the most important improvements of the new Precision Servo Motor has to do with the ignition: The
well-known shaking when switching on the track, which occurs with many conventional RC servos, is 100%
blocked in every operating mode. You will hear absolutely nothing from the servo when you switch on your track,
no railway crossing will jump.

Accessories
To make the use of the servo motor as easy as possible, we include extensive accessories with the
delivery, which are specially adapted to the needs of our customers: among some different control horns, there is
a special servo horn for direct insertion of the control line. The control line is of course
included together with the mounting screws. The most important accessory is a special servo holder: it allows the servo motor to be installed either horizontally or vertically - depending on the application.
