Sand is one of the operating materials for any locomotive. To increase friction when starting and
braking, especially in difficult weather conditions
This is spread from the locomotive's sand containers via pipes between the wheels and rail. This sand is used in the
depots as well as coal and water
Diesel filled.
The Auhagen model is based on a standard design, which was and is used in the
Berlin-Schöneweide and Lutherstadt Wittenberg depots, among others.
The model is very delicately designed. The location of the storage container next to the tower can be
freely chosen. The connection is made using a flexible hose.
Elevations are included for use with ballast track. Original model
